Critism was tough, sour but full of good spirit. Even if rigorous, the analysis was always presented in a light manner and with a strong sense of humour. Fashion personnalities were in general spied, and the Duke of Windsor's eccentric fashion behaviors were sometimes praised, sometimes vilified. Although simple fashion chroniclers, this magazine's editors created a very precise style always current these days, a subtle mixture of britannic rigidity and american casualness: the "Ivy League Style". We could see there the great Savile Row classics melting with all the traditionnal East Coast dressing garments, "College" striped blazers, "Saddle" oxford shoes....
